A new service for carers of people who have been diagnosed with dementia in the Deal and Sandwich area is available at the Centre. The service provides one to one support, advice and information for the main carer in order that the stresses and strains associated with the role may be alleviated.

How does it work?
An introductory visit can be made to your home or we can speak over the phone to discuss how best this service can help you.

Practical ways to help may be as follows
  • To give benefits advice
  • Information about the services available
  • Befriending or just a friendly face to visit you and the person you care for
Social lunches and information days are organised to provide carers with the opportunity to meet others in similar circumstances.

Carers Lunch First Thursday of each month at The Deal Centre.

If you are caring for someone with Dementia bring them along and join us once a month from 1.00 pm until 2.45 pm for a two-course meal followed by tea or coffee for £7.50. Our lunches are a great way to socialise and meet others who share similar life experiences.
